Writing Book Reviews Workshop

During this Zoom event, participants will learn how to write book reviews, support their poetry community, and gain publication credits by submitting to literary journals. Bring a poetry book you are interested in reviewing.

Want to support your literary community by writing poetry book reviews? But how?

Lily Poetry Review Book Review Editor Amanda Shaw will share the ins and outs of the reviewing process. During the two-hour workshop, participants will

• Understand the elements of a well-crafted review
• Practice drafting reviews
• Discuss how to target your review and submit it for publication

Please bring to the class a poetry book you are interested in reviewing. Links to example reviews will be emailed to registered participants the week before class, but extensive reading is not a requirement.
